I have been involved with woodworking since 1972 when I founded Woodall’s Cabinet Shop, Inc. I operated that shop until I closed it in 1990. I have continued developing my love for woodwork and am embarking on a new venture since my retirement.
About 10 years ago, I was introduced to the INTARSIA art form. This art form uses various species, colors, and grain patterns of natural wood to create beautiful works of art. To learn more about Intarsia, go to www.intarsia.com, the website founded and dedicated to the work of Judy Gale Roberts. Judy was instrumental in developing the renewed interest in this craft. Judy was fondly known as the “Queen of Intarsia.” She was the first woman inducted into the Woodworking Hall of Fame for design, craftsmanship, and education in Intarsia. She passed away in September 2024 and will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue through the patterns and designs she created.
In addition to Intarsia, I have started using a CNC Router to create unique pieces that would be difficult, if not impossible, to create by hand.
